I get asked a lot "what do I / we wear for a photo shoot". The answer is not always easy. For young children I firmly believe they should get to wear clothes that are comfortable and they approve of. Too often we try to squish them into outfits that make them itchy and cranky. Happy, relaxed children are beautiful!

I also encourage parents to bring along a few toys or a favorite blanket for little ones. Snacks and drinks are also suggested. Again, the most wonderful portrait of your child is one where they are happy and smiling. And years from now that old ragged teddy bear will touch your heart in ways you can't imagine.

Adults should feel good wearing an outfit and not wear something simply to "match" the rest of the family. However, groups should coordinate. I tell people that every piece of clothing in the photo should look as though they go together. Colors should all be in the same family, limit the number and size of patterns, avoid logos, and show off your personality!

When in doubt; bring in a few options. I am more than happy to give my opinion once you arrive.
